About
Cia. VENDAVAL is a music and circus collective based in Barcelona and Terrassa. Since 2024 we have taken over public space with a brass and percussion band, fantastical characters on stilts and unicycle, juggling and participatory games. The musicians come from Europe and the Americas, and their rhythms mix funk, Balkan, swing and cumbia.
We conduct the band with hand signals, so every performance is composed in front of the audience. We co-produce with Cia. Filigranes, and our creative base is the circus association Tub d'assaig 7.70 in Terrassa. The musicians also play together in the band La Senyal.
We have performed in Catalonia, Andorra and Germany, including Fira del Vapor and, in Frankfurt am Main, the Sommerwerft and Unterwegs theatre festivals.
We are Cia. VENDAVAL. We make music and circus in the street. We are from Barcelona and Terrassa.
We are a band. We play saxophones, trumpet, sousaphone and drums. The musicians come from Europe and from America.
There are circus artists with the band. One artist walks on stilts. Stilts are long poles on the legs. Another artist rides a unicycle. A unicycle is a bike with 1 wheel. They juggle and play games with the audience.
We lead the band with hand signs. The audience learns the signs and leads the band too.
We have performed in Catalonia, Andorra and Germany.

Workshops
VENDAVAL's artists offer circus and music workshops for young people and adults, led by working professionals. We offer them together with one of our shows, and we travel from Barcelona.
